Hades, in Greek mythology, is the god of the underworld and the ruler of the dead. He is one of the three brothers who divided the world among themselves: Zeus took the sky, Poseidon the sea, and Hades the underworld. Unlike his siblings, Hades is often associated with darkness, death, and all hidden wealth beneath the earth, such as precious metals and stones.

Hades is often depicted as stern, unyielding, and somewhat indifferent, reflecting his role as the overseer of the dead. He is not typically portrayed as evil; rather, he is a just ruler who maintains balance within his realm. Though feared by mortals, Hades is essential to the natural order, ensuring the cycle of life and death continues.
